Review: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion Forest Fury

Product Description: Sophisticated color, ignited by an exclusive Luminizer, reveals amazing color highlights. Explosive pigments sweep on for the truest color payoff. Exclusive Luminizer unleashes a surge of color.

These palettes contain five shades of color, most of them are shimmery but there is a few mattes. I picked up three of these palettes and the one I am reviewing for you today is the green palette called Forest Fury. I think this is my favorite palette out of the three that I picked up(the green, blue, and purple). All the colors are gorgeous! They have great payoff and are pretty easy to use. But I do think that these would work WAY better with NYX's Jumbo Pencil in Milk underneath to really make the colors POP. The colors in this palette coordinate with each other very well and the glitter top coat aka "Luminizer" is absolutely STUNNING!! It really adds that extra bling factor to your eyes. This is a great palette for someone who is just starting to wear color because the shades are very basic and easy to use.

Now for some swatches!!
Natural Light
(left to right: Luminizer, Dark Forest Green, Moss Green, Lime Green, and Cream) The Luminizer was so hard to capture! These photos do not do it justice. It is almost like a powder version of a NYX Candy Glitter Liner, that's how glittery it is!
Sunlight
And here is the look I did with it:
As you can see here, the colors aren't overpowering, that's what makes them great for someone starting out with color :D

Pros:

  • Great Shades
  • Smooth Texture
  • Luminizer( I ♥ Glitter)
  • Coordinated shades
Cons:
  • Overpriced for drugstore( USD 10 for 5 shades)
  • Not as pigmented without a base
Overall I would give this palette a 4 out of 5 stars, its really great but overpriced. I will also be reviewing the other two palettes I got from this collection, so be on the lookout for that if your interested!

Have a great day!!

Okay. I'll admit that for a brown eyed girl, i'm not the biggest fan of green shadows. I can't seem to pull them off. But MAN this makes me want this palette. <3 Beautiful darling.
